Our Mission
Community Development
At Simbiti Safaris, we care about our people just as much as our wildlife and land. Soon after establishing our concession, we partnered with a group of individuals who shared our vision: bringing real development and upliftment to the rural communities of the Mateke Hills.
Together we founded Sustainable Development Africa (Verein Nachhaltige Entwicklung in Afrika), based in Zimbabwe and registered as a non profit organisation in Germany.
Since its founding in 2023 through to today in 2026, the association has raised a total of €110,000 in donations. These funds have financed and successfully delivered the following projects:
2023
- Repair of a school building destroyed by a cyclone
- Funding of 4 years of secondary school for 12 students
2024
- Drilling of a well, water connection for the school, and installation of sanitary facilities
- Drilling of a well in the Mateke Hills to secure water supply for wildlife
- Funding of four years of secondary school for 10 students
2025
- Construction of a new school building for Makhanani School, for 2 × 40 students
- Funding of 4 years of secondary school for 8 children
- Construction of a water supply system for the Petronelle community
- Connection of 2 schools to the new water supply
- Start of construction on a boarding house for 32 children at Gezani Secondary School
2026
- Connection of Petronelle Clinic to our new water system
- Connection of Petronelle Clinic to the public power grid
- Construction of the boarding house, planned completion around November 2026
Simbiti Safaris provides logistics, community liaison support, and full oversight for every project the organisation sponsors.
